Charcoal Portrait of a Young Woman 2006

This portrait of a young woman drawn entirely in charcoal. The style is simple and minimal. I strove to balance the dark areas of her hair on each side of her face. I used blending techniques to soften the face to contrast with the sharp edges of the hair. This made the image one of my favorites.

The size of this project is approximately 16x20 drawn in charcoal on acid free cold press watercolor paper. I would consider a commission like this to start at $100.00 for an unframed portrait this size or $175.00 for a framed portrait this size.
